About STOS

Monthly meeting

May 18, in Vestal Library at 2PM

Although the Southern Tier Orchid Society (STOS) has been in existence since the 1960s, its activities remained dormant until 1986.  During this time, an enthusiastic group of orchid growers arrived to this area of the country, the gorgeous Finger Lakes Region of New York, and have revived its activities.  At present, the club draws people from a radius of approximately 70 miles and it meets once per month in Vestal, NY.  Its present membership includes about 70 people and its activities include a series of invited speakers, an American Orchid Society (AOS) judged orchid show and a yearly plant auction to benefit the club's funds.  The club also displays in other shows whenever it is invited to participate in them.
